Lorde - 09/2025 - Stadium (21000~ capacity)
I genuinely thought I was just a casual Lorde fan and I sort of only went to this because Leon had an extra ticket but I guess I'm a mega-fan now. Even from the 300s section you could feel how much she enjoyed performing to this sold-out crowd. The setlist ending with her walking through the crowd while singing David -> A World Alone -> Ribs was pure emotional damage, I cried so hard I couldn't breathe. Eyeliner and mascara across my entire face. Loved her and will go out of my way to see her again. Leon and I had so much fun.
best song: Wet Leg - 09/2025 - Arts Centre (2500~ capacity)
Went with Bib and PJ (sort of). Chaos over dinner and so we missed the opener. Drinks expensive. I like the layout of this venue but the audio mix was soooo off. Couldn't hear any of the phone part from CPR and any of the band talking was muffled from where we were (kind of in the back). All their songs sound a little bit the same. Rhian (the lead singer) had such a lovely stage presence and she looked like a legit angel with her orange/pink hair blowing in the fans and her epic guitar. Cool girls live forever.

Turnstile - 08/2025 - Festival
I ran over from the Men I Trust stage to catch the end of this set and they were SO fire. Did not participate in the mosh pit, but I wish I did. I'd see them again live (their sound was also so great), but I think I prefer slightly more hardcore punk than this? I don't want to say it's a bit too accessible, but I like my rock absolutely deafening with heavier drum breaks.

Men I Trust - 08/2025 - Festival
Sat in a field and almost fell asleep. Beautiful music. Emmanuelle is so beautiful and has suchhhh a doll-like voice. The crowd cheered really loud when they played the little "you're listening to Oncle Jazz".
best song:
Pixies - 08/2025 - Festival
These guys do NOT like playing Where Is My Mind. They sped through it so quickly no one could sing along lol. Crowd was ok, live performance was ok. I forced our whole section to dance during Debaser because that's an important song to move your body to.
best song:
Kurt Vile - 08/2025 - Festival
Got to the festival mid-set post Gretta's epic BBQ and it was so hot and sweaty (40 degrees). I only know Kurt Vile from his songs with Courtney Barnett. I would recommend him if you are really sweaty and also sleepy because you just ate so many hot dogs, because you will be distracted from your feelings with his good music.
best song: don't remember....
HiTech - 07/2025 - Festival
They were projecting a huge graphic behind the stage that said "Take Your Ass To Detroit" and like lowkey yeah I want to go to Detroit now. Super high energy. These guys were drinking 2-6s like it was nothing and offering it to the crowd. Went to the show early with L and it hit capacity which meant the crowd was soooo pumped and dancing like mad. Very fun.
best song:
Prado Munroe - 07/2025 - Festival
So Prado actually saved mine and L's life. She played an early set so there was like 25 really enthusiastic people there. L and I danced really hard and found that Prado's songs were soooo catchy and fun. The life saving part comes in because we were leaving the show and Prado was outside having a lil smoke. L stopped and said "omg girl you were so good" and she thanked us and chatted to us for a little while. We kept walking and got to an intersection where a car ran a red light and I swear to you if we were 20 seconds earlier we would have gotten smoked by the car so shout out to Prado for slowing us down!! Highly recommend.
best song: Alice Longyu Gao - 05/2025 - Club (300~ capacity)
Alice literally did this show like a little while after Gnarly by Katseye came out and she mentioned it and honestly, I love how far she's come in her career! She is still so creative and original and her shows are so fun. She did however mention that she hated oat milk at the end of the show and personally... disagree! But love her fr.

Marie Davidson - 03/2025 - Club (300~ capacity)
City of Clowns is my #1 album of the year so far, so getting to hear it live was so awesome. I was 2 days off of wisdom tooth surgery so I had some serious pain meds in my body but wow it was so good. Went with Brie who didn't know the artist but still vibed asf. Marie has a beautiful stage presence and her live performances are so fun. I want to see her again ASAP.

3rd time going with Leon. Still so good. NEED a new album please.
best song: all of them
LCD Soundsystem- 12/2023 - Knockdown Centre (3100~ capacity)
2nd time going with Leon, 1st with Tessa. Tessa was EXTORTED by the venue (not really) b/c the drinks were like $50 USD for a double. The show was really good again but my feet were so tired. Danced forever and ever.
best song: all of them
Modest Mouse - 12/2022 - Terminal 5
I went alone and accidentally spilled my drink on some guy (sorry). Was not successful at making friends. Was the anniversary tour for the Lonesome Crowded West, which is my favourite MM album (and then for the encore they played Edit The Sad Parts). I love this music so much. I don't know if I would see them again, something about the tinny recordings is part of the magic and you don't really get that live. Jeremiah was not performing with them at that time, and he passed just a few weeks after this. My favourite drummer ever.

LCD Soundsystem- 12/2022 - Brooklyn Steel
This is the best 10/10 concert standard to which all other concerts are held. The band was on fire that night. Perfect from start to finish. Went with Leon. Got free drinks because of his credit card (woooo). Hearing Dance Yrself Clean live for the first time produced a similar emotional feeling as to what I imagine an Ayahuasca retreat is like. Pretty sure Leon's watch said we burned 1500 calories in like 3 hours from dancing. The songs just kept coming. I have a treasured set list framed on my wall from this show. A perfect show, a perfect band, for the perfect time in my life.

Alex G - 11/2022 - MTelus
Everybody loudly complained about how they hated the new album (God Save The Animals) except for me because I liked it. Went with Brie and Tessa after driving 12 hours to the show. Brie and I got squished during Brick because all the teenage boys around us really wanted to mosh. I sort of expected that Alex G would be funny and he was very very intoxicated during the show, which meant it wasn't great. But we had fun!
COVID times... no shows
Brockhampton - 07/2018 - Festival
Went with A. I passed out due to lack of oxygen because I am short and everyone is tall. Was a very defining moment in our friendship because she had to haul me out of the crowd. Great show after that, especially given that they were freshly finished with the Saturation albums. Hype crowd, so fun.
the 1975 - 05/2017 - Stadium
I was a super-fan so I waited for hours, got a good spot and cried a lot. I think this was when their lead singer was really going through it so I remember that he was pretty visibly intoxicated on stage. A girl screamed so loud beside me she passed out. I think they played Antichrist and I cried.
twenty one pilots - 04/2016 - Stadium
I was a super-fan for these guys too. As I write this nine years later, I am no longer a fan but I remember this show was clearly made with attention to detail, the audio was great and they had so much energy. During Car Radio, Tyler appears randomly in the crowd and runs around and he came right by our section and it was really cool.
BTS - 07/2015 - Palacio de los Deportes
I waited 10 hours for a good spot for this and this was before they were the global mega-stars they are now. I'm glad I saw them 10 years ago because I don't think I could afford to now. Mom took me to this show because she is the best (and I was like 13), and she is a saint for being able to endure 12 hours of teenage k-pop fans. The actual show had phenomenal dancing but the event organizers let the capacity get unsafe - quite a few girls had to be pulled out of the crowd because they were getting crushed at the barrier. Crazy experience - the boys were very very excellent and professional performers.
Selena Gomez and the Scene - ??/2010? - Stadium
I remember so little about this show but I do remember making signs with my best friend from elementary school with little collages of Selena and her band. A very simple time in life!
