Strange Days (1995, dir. Kathryn Bigelow)
5/5 stars, I started writing a blog post mostly inspired by this movie but also about how so much of the doom & gloom tech discourse from the pre-y2k era feels identical to the disillusionment people are feeling today. If you're feeling nihilistic about everything these days you should watch this really good movie. Or don't actually, maybe it will make you feel worse. Maybe I will post the blog.
Highlights of my current weekly routine
I'm running about 20km a week right now and it's been really fab.
I'm limiting myself to 10 minutes a day on Pinterest for recipes and I found a smoothie I've been downing before all my runs. My friend H tells me it's called a 'funky monkey'. I think this is a great name for a food. Here's how you make it:
- 1 banana
- ice (if not using frozen banana)
- 1 tbsp of peanut butter
- some chocolate chips (I like the PC brand plant-based ones)
- 1 cup of oat milk (or whatever milk. i don't believe in dairy propaganda)
Put it in a blender. You're done. Then you can go run so far and so fast first thing in the morning!
Working On
I'm putting together a dj set for summer mornings. I keep trying to make a deep house mix but then I just keep injecting a tad too much latin flavour into it so it doesn't flow as well. Going to play with the balances a bit and then put it up on this site.
Also trying to write FICTION for the first time in years. Something about summer makes me feel like short stories are all around just waiting to be written.
My now page is inspired by nownownow.
