On Being a Blogger Guy

So… what are we?
Today is July 11th, 2023. As Twitter dies and Reddit alienates its entire community, we are once again seeing the demise of the great text-based social media platform. I can no longer post my silly thoughts anonymously online without being inundated by robots, haters, and misinformed edgelord teens. Isn’t there anywhere where I can just ramble online for a few dedicated friends to read?
I figured I might as well try one of the earliest and best internet creations - the PERSONAL WEBSITE BLOG. It’s 1999 again here, maybe just with better quality images. What better way to satisfy the self-absorbed parts of myself than having a dedicated personal whiteboard to throw my ideas and words into the universe. Screw traditional social media - early internet users had the right idea. No algorithms, no (god forbid) REELS, no follower counts, just pure content, at a normal human rate that is satisfying for me to write and hopefully at least a bit interesting for you to read. This is me becoming micro-micro-influencer or a self-proclaimed ‘blogger guy.’
The other purpose of this blog is to reassure my family and friends that I am conscious and alive. I am lucky to be spending the next few months of my life traveling, meeting people, adventuring, seeing old friends and most importantly, finding a JOB and/or applying to grad school. We’ll see what happens, but rest assured I will be uploading some stories and writing here along the way.
If you want this to be a one-sided relationship, I’m totally good with that. Read my stuff with your morning coffee and chill. If you are more conversationally inclined, please leave a comment or email me! I literally cannot stress how much I would love to hear from you. We can make this a reciprocal thing.
If you want updates, I set up the nifty subscription box thing on the blog page. Just send over your email address and you can get notified when I post here.
love n hugs, sam
